Students must pass the Proficiency Tests of the State of Ohio in reading, writing, citizenship, mathematics, and science.
Twenty-four (24) credits are required for graduation. These requirements are:
- 4 Units of Religious Education (or 1 Unit for each year of attendance at St. Thomas Aquinas High School)
- 4 Units of English
- 3 Units of Social Studies (Government, American History, World History)
- 3 Units of Science (1 Unit of Biology and 2 Units of either Chemistry, Astronomy, Geology, Great Inventions, Ecology, or Foundations in Science)
- 3 Units of Mathematics
- 0.5 Unit of Physical Education
- 0.5 Unit of Health
- 6 Units of Electives
Since a diploma from St. Thomas Aquinas High School is symbolic of the student's participation in the total educational mission of the school; and since that participation extends to spiritual, academic, social and financial responsibilities with the concept of Christian justice; and since graduation is the public ceremony by which the students who have fulfilled the criteria are recognized; each student, in order to participate in all of the graduation ceremonies, will have:
- Met the Religious Education requirements of St. Thomas Aquinas High School;
- Earned the necessary number of academic credits;
- Paid all outstanding bills by May 1 of the senior year;
- Met all disciplinary responsibilities; and
- Passed all required Proficiency Tests.
In order to be promoted from one class level to the next, the following number of credits must have been earned:
- Freshmen to Sophomore 5.75 credits minimum
- Sophomore to Junior 12 credits minimum
- Junior to Senior 18 credits minimum
- Senior Graduation 24 credits
