* The safety and security of the students and staff of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School is my number one priority. As such, my staff is evaluating our policies concerning security and access to our building. We will also continue to practice our lockdown procedures and instructing our staff and students what to do in the event of an incident.
* On a lighter note, we are excited to have Bishop Murry visit our building on Monday of this week.
* The St. Thomas Aquinas Auction, Aquinas Gold, will be held Saturday, March 24th at La Pizzeria in Canton. Please consider coming to this spectacular event and sending in your reservations as soon as you can. This auction is a guaranteed good time with many amazing items available to bid on including a puppy that visited our school last Friday. This is Aquinas’s biggest fundraiser of the year and we need everyone’s support to make it a success.
* The remainder of my announcements are for middle school students and their parents:
*There will be a meeting for Middle School parents for all those considering running track on Thursday, March 8th @ 6pm in the Commons. The meeting will cover practice and meet schedules and team rules. You will also have an opportunity to meet the coaches. We are still looking for a shot and discus coach for middle school track and field. If you are interested please contact our athletic director, Mr. Cook.
*Middle School students are selling Malley’s Easter Candy once again this year. We are hoping to raise $3000 to fund 18 months of Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math online programs to help individualize and accelerate instruction for all students.
*We have instituted a new program to assist middle school students with academic achievement and behavior. A letter was mailed home last week describing the plan. If you have any questions, please call me at the school. That’s all I have Knights. Have a great Aquinas Week!
