Mother Teresa


On September 4, 2016, in Rome, the Catholic Church canonized St. Teresa of Calcutta. If you are not familiar with her and her work, she had an unconditional love for the poor and marginalized and led by example of how to serve others in Corporal Works of Mercy. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

We invite each of you to check click for more information about her and have a discussion with your family about her legacy.

As St. Teresa has inspired us to reach out to those in need, a gentle reminder that all high school students are required to complete service hours each year. If your student is looking for opportunities, please visit the attendance office and options are posted on the bulletin board. Opportunities include the Catholic Charities fundraiser “Men Who Cook” on Sat. Oct. 8th and the Christmas party “Adventure Place” on December 3rd. Local parishes need students as small group discussion leaders on Sundays and Mondays. Matthew 8:20 is an outreach program to feed the hungry in Canton on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month. A delegation from STA serve in November, parents are invited to help. Completed hours will be shared at the end of the grading quarter with the report cards.
